Good and bad points to this one. It was her turn to pick a car. I've picked the last 14 and they have all been Saab 900s. She has wanted an Xterra since high school. So I did the research and found a 2003 with only 57k miles. Nice enough car. Definitely safe (lately she has been driving the '80 900 with a failing brake master). Probably won't need much work for a while. Should hold it's value reasonably well.
It's just not a Saab.
My boss suggested putting on the Saab 900 turbo badges and painting it Talladega Red or something. Still won't be the same. Plus there was just something so romantic about watching her pull into the driveway every day in a Saab. A great looking girl driving an SPG just makes my heart melt. You just can't beat that. Now she wants me to thin the herd to pay for it. So there may be a couple nice 900s coming up for sale pretty soon. We'll see. Just trying to figure out which one to keep. It will be weird to be down to one 900.
