When your bypass valve's diaphragm ruptures the symptom is usually the car dying when stopping for a red light for example. Our Saab recirculating bypass valves don't usually make a noticeable noise unless a large cold air intake is installed like I did on my '88 9000 Talladega where a Classic 900T doesn't lend itself well to such an intake system. If you replace your original Bosch valve be sure to use the one that ends in 110 that was first seen in Viggen's! I have a slightly used 110 and a like new one as well as I replaced all of mine with adjustable Hyper-Boost billet valves when they were still available!
