I had a similar problem that turned into my car dying on the way to work. It has aftermarked blue magnecore wires that never were fit quite right when the PO put them on. That is what I always check first. There is usually one that has slipped off. Either one from the dizzy cap or the one that connects to the coil.
Other than that, check your grounds and wires going to alternator and battery are all tight. If not that, check vacuum hoses (they get looser and open up when warm). Check airflow hoses - make sure they are all connected and well tightened from turbo to intercooler to throttle body and everything from the air filter.
After you have checked all that, then you can start getting into the more complicated stuff. But remember, always check the cheapest and simplest stuff first and work up from there.
