Classic issue of broken plastic sheathing, for YEARS...
Finally did it: took a piece of the plastic tubing to Home depot...found appropriate hard-enough plastic piping...
its this polyethylene stuff: 3/8 x 1/2 x 25ft (internal diameter x external diameter) for ~7 bucks...
Slips right over the old broken plastic stuff, tight, but manageable, and used 8 little worm-gear hose clamps (two per crack, yes I had four cracks) and then Zip-tied them further into place to make that arch look smooth...all in, 2H including the trip to HD with the kids.
Its just amazing. My seats are adjustable again in that (most important) direction...and it cost me 12 bucks, all in.
F'in-A.
