Can't believe a pulley could do that! Did you actually see cracked cast iron from the block? The chain cover bolt holes probably could be re-tapped if threads were stripped. The cover is non-structural and the bolts don't need much torque, just use permatex or a good sealer so there are no oil leaks. I think that the axles and inner drivers are compatible. I'd like to see a picture of the "ruined" block.
