I have held out as long as possible from posting so not to waste anyone's time on problems already addressed here. The following is my plan of attack but have a few questions before beginning brain surgery on the electrical.
It is a non turbo automatic. It has had the sticky key syndrome and we would just back the key off and restart with no problem there would be a short metallic grind/noise once every 3-4 starts. I was gentle enough not to do it but others no matter what you tell them just crank away. So the last time the car was running it was over started this way twice and chugged then stalled. I did notice the grinding/whine noise does not happen anymore when attempting to start. The starter is engaging the flywheel is turning the belts are fine and the motors turning but no spark. All the grounds have been meticulously checked/relays good. I tried to test cps sensor even got a turbo distributor still no spark. I do not have the Bentley but have been to townsends but the test procedures talk about testing the 7 pin connector at the (ignition control module) then it talks about rolling back the rubber boot and testing a 29 pin module(assuming that's the ezk ecu)etc etc. Could any one tell me if any of the following would cause no spark #1;The knock sensor 2;Ignition switch or if something did go wrong with the starter or solenoid would that cause no spark even though it's engaging and trying to start. I have tested voltage at the 7 pin and voltage there so I'm guessing coil or ezk ecu. What pins should I test at the 7 pin module and what voltage should be there? If I'm rite should be pin 3&6 8 volts or so over 10 says to replace. Just wanted to ask to double check. The car going cost my job now we have no money for a manual let alone more parts. Any help would be appreciated much. Thank you all in advance and sorry soooooo long. Regards
