If your donor is a 1991 TURBO, they are functionally interchangeable, but the connector between the side of the distributor and the wiring harness (3 small wires) is different. Rectangular on 1991, Oval on 1986. You will need to use the harness plug from your donor, spliced into the harness on the 1986 to make fitment good. If I remember correctly, two wires should match same color and go together. The 3rd wire is different color, but they go together. Do a nice solder job with heat shrink tubing and you'll be good. First, check condition of plugs/wires on the donor distributor - they crumble easily and there are no replacement plugs in this world. The plugs to repair the 1986 setup are probably still avail with some diligent effort/searching. Your distributor is 1988 and older. The donor is 1989 and newer, I believe.
If donor is an N/A C900, no interchange possible.
