Leaking R134 Low Side Valve- Saab Conversion Type

Just picked up a 87TC. Runs great. Has been sitting for years and the AC compressor has had the factory R134 conversion fittings and a new manifold hose. The conversion looks like it was installed just before the car was parked. Sticker, valve and hose are fresh looking and clean. It's the type with the hose for the low side and the angle valve on the high side. Both are direction connected to the back of the compressor. System at first pressure check was 0 psi. Added a can of R134. System fired right up, cooling nicely. Took the gauges off and there was hissing from the end of the low side hose. Looked inside the fitting at the end of the hose and saw there is some kind of nylon/plastic valve rather than the metal schreader type that is in the high side valve. Is there a replacement valve core that can be used in place of the plastic innards on that low side fitting?
