yes the intake cam was designed to create more swirl in the cc but results in less fuel intake overall. the exhaust cam is preferred due to more open duration, if i recall. swap in any other newer intake cam from an NA 900 and you have the most optimized stock camshafts. from what i've read its not really much of an upgrade but i believe aftermarket camshafts are either not available or are rather harsh.
i believe your motor may also have a smaller combustion chamber volume due to the pistons being the 8vt version.
are you going to rebuild the block or is it in good running condition?
