Blue,
it happened all of sudden? Right out of the blue? You mean that fuse #5 which goes blowing out?
It's interesting you mention your breaker goes toggling even if you remove the stalk switch. Know what? That very fuse #5 also protects seatbelt warning light - you might want checking the wire harness under front seats (and that very seatbelt bulb and its socket itself). I'd start with bulb and its socket.
As for the wire tracing - it's pretty straight-forward, a little bit time-consuming, but nothing special once you finally get the feel of it. You don't really need rocket-science devices with radio signals and so forth, you've got everything you need already: Bentley manual and DMM (AMM - analog multimeter - is also fine, but outmoded since it doesn't come with TWEETER or iOS8 and front cam). You just need to trace all the wires after the fuse. Removing and step-by-step (or part-by-part) re-inserting all (_A_L_L_) the devices which are protected by this fuse will save you some time and patience. If the fuse keeps on blowing even with everything behind it being removed, then it's definitely a short-circuit caused by broken wire insulation, probably, not far away from the fuse.
Bottom line: read the diagrams in your Bentley manual and trace the circuits. Removing all the protected consumers is quite handy in 98% cases.
Good luck,
Zig
