Mark, I think there is some room to adjust both the ecodes and the side turn signals to make them look right. I don't remember if mine stuck out more or less (I replaced dots on the 1993 a few years back), but I do remember fussing a bit to fix up some differences in gaps etc.
I would recommend doing both sides at the same time anyway from a lighting perspective (though I understand if you need something asap and can't find the other in a storage locker)... you will probably be able to better adjust the gaps etc on the front end to make it look right once all the right parts are there.
you will like the ecodes + have trouble going back to dots for sure!
