As stated by others check the CSP before you go to the frustration of belts etc. You are going to have to remove those things eventually if the CSP is the problem, which I bet it is. My 88 SPG is squelling like a cat, but just since the weather turned colder. I know its a bummer to work in the cold, but see if you can put a white paint mark between the two steel parts of the CSP if they don't stay in line then its the CSP. Also if its slipping bad enough the other drive belts won't turn. The danger to ignoring the CSP is it can do more damage if the two concentric metal wheels seperate or shift. Also depending on the year and model the hall sensor could be in that area and not on the distributer, so that could stop you suddenly, and add expense to the CSP replacement.
