Hello all,

Wow, this is a flashback trip for me. After being SAAB smitten for about 9 years, I've been stricken with Volvo disease, and have spent the last 3 years hoarding RWD Volvo performance parts...have both a 2 series and 9 series for anyone who speaks that language. But I digress....my better half bought a 91 900TC a couple years ago...automatic (autotragic), and of course the 129K mile autotrans died. Fortunately, I had rebuilt an 87 5 speed for my sons 900 and as that car has now been crushed I am underway to convert the 91 TC to a 5 speed.

All the donor parts have been pulled from the 5 speed car (pedals w/wiring, shifter, gearbox, front mount). I've already sourced a new clutch, master, slave, connecting line (steel/hose), so I think I have the clutch covered.

Whilst I'm in here (and this is my LAST 900, ever), I will replace the head gasket (Elhring) steering rack with a rebuilt, probably buy a new radiator for convenience (original) & associated new hoses for the PS.

Considering to rebuild the Garret oil cooled turbo from my son's old 87, that thing always pulled like a freight train. However the 91 of course has the MITSU water cooled; both were passing oil into the IC so I know the both need CHRA seals at minimum. I know the water cooled benefits, but suspect with Mobil 1 I won't have issues protecting the T3 Garrett.

So for you old SAAB sages, what else would you do, while going in "for the last time" ?

Thanks in advance, hopefully this thread fills out nicely for SAAB posterity.
