Forgive me brothers if this one has been answered...years ago when I first caught the SAAB bug, there was persistent urban legend here that the 87 cams were 1 year only....more lift/duration, i.e. more 16V power.
My old 87T has donated it's 5 gear for my project. I suppose I can throw a vernier on the cam lobes to see if there is any lift difference above the base circle....can't really measure duration easily.
Just a myth, or is there truth there? The 87 cams are inhand.......albeit with probably twice the miles of my 91 16V cams.
Thanks.
