There has been a lot of discussion of LED replacement light bulbs over on the Porsche 912 site, and it seems that a lot of the advertising ignores some important little points of the physics of light emission and transmission: you need a bulb of the same color as the lens of the device in which you place it, or else most of the light of the LED will be lost passing through the colored plastic or glass. Go to the forums on the 912BBS and find the latest cussing and discussing of LEDs there. It explains why the LEDs in the rear of my son-in-laws Audi Allroad are disappointing.
