I've been fortunate enough to have the Saab special tools at my disposal off and on. The special bracket mounts where the left side motor mount does on the block, and uses one or two bolts (depending on which motor) that mount to the block behind the flywheel area. You can mount the entire engine and trans to the engine stand this way without removing the clutch & flywheel.
Unfortunately, that bracket won't mount to a standard $49.99 engine stand, requiring an adapter which is little more than a huge chunk of steel machined to fit in the stand, and with a snout that fits the bracket...
