In theory, very. But in the dozens and dozens of clutch jobs I've done on c900s, I've never resurfaced once. If you've got rust, contamination, or glazing, etc., you're going to want to have it resurfaced, but if it's clean I wouldn't sweat it.
Actually, I did resurface once... my '87 SPG had a slipping clutch and I dragged it out til the end. Who needs 5th gear acceleration? When I finally did the job the flywheel was totally glazed, so I had it resurfaced. But that's it! :)
