This was disturbing. While changing my starter, I noticed that the big coolant hose that runs down behind it rubs on the bracket for the starter. I can feel a serious depression in it (1/4" diameter and pretty deep, maybe 2/3 the hose thickness. It's not leaking yet, but I think I'd better change it (though it looks like a PITA).
Anyone blow this one before? looks like it could be a common problem! Not sure if it is rubbing against the lower bolt holding the bracket on or a ridge on the bracket itself...
