Success! Cut down auto brake pedal looks like a champ Posted by DET17 [Email] (#1254) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DET17) on Thu, 23 May 2013 19:39:26 In Reply to: Fair enough Bill, but I like the sparks!, Notnoel [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 23 May 2013 07:35:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks boys, worked like a dream. Just put it in my bench vise, pulled out the trusty side grinder with 4" Metabo cutoff wheel, and then sliced her down to 60mm width max, tapered around 50ish at top & bottom Final trimming on the bench grinder to bring it home, then touch up with a file to knock off the sharp corners. For security, I put black adhesive RTV behind the pad, since you have to slice it up at 3 and 9 o'clock to clear the rib on the back of the WIDE auto brake pedal.
Installed and looking good! Next, rebuild the OE heater control valve, sort out the cruise/brake switches & hoses.
