Just bought a 2 owner 1986 900s 2 door notchback! It’s been sitting for 2 years, it’s a red 5 speed with 145,000 miles. I have to have it transported about 1200 miles so I have no clue really what I’ve got myself into! The seller strikes me as a 100% standup guy, not out to rip anyone off. He said that the clutch slave is weak, which is why he stopped driving it, that he bought one for it but never installed it. The car has Centerline aftermarket wheels, which I may try to sell in exchange for a set of clean stock wheels. He said everything works 100% even the AC and that the 16 valve engine runs great and the trans is 100% solid. There is some minor rust at the bottoms of the rear wheel wells by the drain tubes that I’ll have to address as soon as it gets to my house, which hopefully won’t be too long, I paid a shipping company extra for expedited shipping! Anyway what all would you do to it before even trying to start it? I know the gas has to be pretty bad after 2 years but if I remember correctly there is no drain on the tank. Is there a way to unhook the fuel line from the engine and run the pump to pump out all of the old gas? The seller has had the car about 10 years, he bought it from the original owner. Its had full synthetic oil and trans lube since he has had it. I plan on flushing everything before driving it anywhere. My main concern is getting all of that old fuel out of the system. I am super excited, Ive not been behind the wheel of a C900 in years, and have always wanted a notchback, I never thought I would find a clean, unmolested 1986 with relatively low miles, 5 speed and like new tan interior these days!!!!
