When you say it cut off I'm thinking it turns off same as you turning the key off. No stumbling of the motor or anything befor hand. Very few things can do this, One thing is the hall on the distributor shorting and the other is the little square plastic module bolted in right above the passenger side wheel well. This square module is nothing more than a wire junction point but the wire running from this module to the positive batterie terminal are lose it can cut the motor off same as turning the key. Might want to inspect all them wires at the box and make sure the bolt is still tight. If you see any corrosion unbolt them and clean the wire ends
