We all need to inspect these at least annually for cracks. My drivers side lower A arm failed at 60 mph and the good news is that the SPG was still controllable enough to get it onto the shoulder from the fast lane of a 4 lane highway. I was lucky that the road wasn't crowded and that I'd just come off a curve onto a straight away. Previous discussions on this board seemed to indicate that '88-'89 years might have had lesser quality welds, but all years should be inspected. It wouldn't hurt to do it at every oil change (like I do now).)
