As others mentioned, I don't think this is a problem with the bleeding. You shouldn't need the pedal pumping to get pressure. Maybe once or twice, sure, but not dozens of times. That's abnormal. If I had to guess, I'd guess a goofy master cylinder that is leaking past its seals. Any time I've had a clutch system bleed great but that fail to work it's been a bad MC - but I've also never had a slave fail internally, so maybe just coincidence. ;) Every slave failure I've ever experienced was a leak out into the world.
