The answer is yes, you can, but it is a PITA. Mostly time on the bench doing the shim checks. Cmyles can post up a storm on this. I would suggest sourcing the parts you need, put new seals in both inner driver sides, make sure you save the shims for the side that is intact and have them ready to return to that side. OK, so you might as well do the pinion bearings too....and a gasket set......and ????

Look inside for debris and pieces/chunks. You can see most of the gears when the box is out of the car and the covers are off.

What was the GM number sequence on the primary chain case?
