Furthermore that manual states:
All Lambda CIS cars use a solid state relay to switch power to the fuel pump, Lambda ECU (through an additional relay on early models), warm up regulator and auxiliary air regulator heating elements. Although there are several variant of this relay, they all sense primary ignition pulses and will automatically stop the pump if the engine dies. Some models (principally turbos) also incorporate a rev limiter to shut down the fuel pump if engine speed exceeds approximately 6000 rpm.
Temporary Bypassing
On all version, a jumper wire between pins 30 and 87 will energize all fuel pump circuits. This method should only be used in the shop for diagnostic purposes. (Paul's comment: take that warning about temporary seriously!)
