The complete DOT 4 fluid was flushed 100% in early 2012, right before I tricked the wife into blowing up the automatic......but that's another story :)

Thanks for pin pointing the ABS ECU.....thought I saw it when I was running the SIRIUS antennae thru that area. I will pull the ECU loose from the cable connector. Yup, that connection looks just like my EZK and Jetrtronic BOSCH ECUs in my Volvo 940 Turbo (the DD).

The more I think over this rear lockup, the more logical the blocked RR line theory becomes. Since the ABS output is a single line feeding both, we can eliminate the ABS module itself. I do recall the rear brake line looked quite crusty.....car originally came from NE Ohio, where they salt the roads, so the rear axle has a fair amount of crust on it.

I will take a good look at the rigid line on the axle, when I'm installing the BOGE Turbo gas rears and spring spacer. I doubt anyone in the SE USA has a brake testing machine....never heard of any although i can imagine what you describe (a brake dyno). We shall see! An actual brake line PSI/ BAR gauge would tell the story and compare the sides....but I don't have at this time. Most likely I will have to find a clean donor of a SE car and try to remove the rigid brake lines to my convertible.

So, the fluid level switch is the likely culprit for the ABS non function? I know I plugged / unplugged the cable connector when trying to restore pump function a couple years ago. Have you found the corruption right in the connector, or broken cables? Does the sensor replace or must you replace the entire brake fluid tank WITH sensor installed?

And, where in the world is YOUR Mordor?
