I can tell you in no uncertain terms: Your car is totaled. I'm an autobody tech and have been at it for over thirty years. Is your car repairable? Yes. Is it financially feasable? ????? That answer is up to you. I'd guess by looking at the picture you posted that you're looking at approximately a $4500.00 hit there. It could go up, depending on the amount of inner structure damage. New old stock parts are no longer supported by a dealer network, used parts are drying up. Best bet if you're in love with the car....Locate all your own parts or better yet, a donor vehicle. If you're not up for the challenge of the repairs yourself, find a competent autobody guy that moonlights. It will need a bit of unibody straightening, so whoever fixes it will need to have the right equipment. It'll also always carry a salvage title from here on out. That's always a value killer on resale.
Like I said, it CAN be fixed, but the hoops you'll have to jump thru to accomplish that might prove to be a bit much, but I truly do understand the connection we develop with these old 900s. I wish you all the best. I'm a multiple Saab 900 owner myself, and that would really ruin my Friday too. Keep telling yourself that YOU are safe and it's ONLY a car....Yeah right, not to those of us who bleed SAAB blood.... Cheers, Bob T.
