I don't know much about the notchbacks... however on a NA I would generally ditch the resonator and go with a turbo setup. If you are buying all new to DIY, without question I would buy the starla turbo catback setup from eeuro, but you could custom up a tailpipe also... The starla kit is cheap and goes together easily. It is OEM. I'm putting one on my '89 4 door very soon. I had a bosal cat with the starla system and it didn't work that well. Maybe a complete bosal exhaust is fine? I dunno... but my problem was the bosal cat was too wide and rattled against the heat shield. Not good. had to align the system to hang the cat a little low and that made the front flange prone to leaking. I much prefer the magniflow cat I got the second time... narrower. fit great. went together fast with less fuss!
