The trick is, that it is hard to gauge how much to use. I melt some down, applied it to the fender edge with a disposable paint brush (home depot for like 69 cents)then slid the trim on. Wipe off the excess, then heat up the trim edge with a hair dryer or heat gun (on low), and wipe the excess again. Some "Goo Gone" citrus based cleaner works well to get the last of it off. Once the weather turns warm, you might have to freshen it up again at first, but eventually it sort of finds its happy place.
