Hello, Yes there are several companies out there that repair speedometers. It is legal though I believe when it comes to selling a car it is the sellers responsibility to inform the buyer and or state that the odometer has been replaced and actual mileage is not known. And ofcourse if your states dmv requires mileage at registration there should be some way of stating the repair. Back before these digital speedometers if you replaced an odometer/speedometer with a new one that read zero you were required to place a sticker on the drivers b pillar that stated old mileage of failed odometer, date done, dealership, etc. I know we send out older porsche, bmw, mercedes odometer/speedometer for repair quite frequently. The repair places usually just replace some small plastic gears that have worn and send them back working. Ofcourse if you search the board I am sure you can find out which cluster work in which cars or which clusters you can take a speedometer/odometer out of so that you have a working one also.
