This is my 1990 vert following its 5-speed conversion. Basically, the orange wire (1990) or orange/yellow stripe (1988) just lays loose after the conversion.
It was once plugged into the neutral safety switch and the other end was plugged into the thick wire, now plugged in at the one o'clock position. I'll try and post a pic of the pre-conversion wiring in a minute to make this more clear.
