Your 1987 C900 with Bosch LH 2.2 injection has no built-in diagnostic capacity. The first C900s with that feature were the 1988 cars with LH 2.4 injection (sorry). The manifold vacuum hose that passes through the firewall goes to the boost gauge and the APC pressure transducer.
There is a vacuum reservoir inside the right fender (big white plastic tank) that stores vacuum (from the intake manifold) for use by the ventilation system. All the flaps that control ventilation air movement are opened and closed by vacuum motors and since manifold vacuum varies with engine load the reservoir is supposed to keep those flaps where you want them when manifold vacuum is low or absent. There are many flaps so there are many hoses and any one of them could be leaking or disconnected and that may be the hissing that you are hearing.
If you can stop the hissing noise by changing the position of the ventilation control knob then you can identify which hose is leaking. Be aware that you may have problems with both the gauge/transducer hose and a ventilation hose. They are all probably the original 1987 hoses!
