Just did it last weekend - albeit with a small 10ml syringe from the local pharmacy - just takes more iterations. Many ways to do it, and my procedure is not so different...
1. attach some small diameter hose to bleed nipple.
2. open bleed nipple and allow hose to fill with fluid.
3. fill syringe with fluid (I filled from the reservoir).
4. with cap off the reservoir, push fluid from syringe through filled hose.
5. repeat until you can't hear/see any more bubbles coming from the reservoir.
6. pump clutch pedal several times (maybe 25-30). If you can hear fluid while listening at the pedal, you've got some more air to push out.
7. repeat 4, 5, and 6 until everything is quiet - no air.
8. Still problems? Probably a leak elsewhere.
