I replaced one of those with a part that was identical to a later model turbo inlet part. That's what I recall ... 9324021 was the part number.
If you look at the Saabsite website, and type in that number, there is a picture, and notes on the fuel smell in the FAQ.
Your next challenge ( or one of many with an 8 valve ) will be the accumulator that is in front of the fuel tank. Sounds to me like modern fuels have begun to attack the rubber parts in your fuel system.
