The answer depends on what year your radio is from. Earlier ones snap out of it if you hold the Band button down a certain # of seconds. Later ones need to have radio turned on with ignition on, at least on Accessory, for an hour.
This is just from what I vaguely recall. Do some searches on here and you can find exact descriptions. Or, if you still have the owner's manual for your car, read about the radio there; it should tell.
They go into these lockout modes after a certain number of incorrect attempts to enter a code. And they don't forget even if unpowered or removed from a car. If there's any doubt about the code, call or visit the parts counter of your closest former Saab dealer. They can still, using the VIN, look up the correct code for the original radio in that car. Or, maybe I'm wrong here, I guess it's using the radio serial number.
Once you get it straightened out write the radio code on the radio body and in a few other places.
