Thanks for the input, my “new” car has 140,000 1 owner, babied but city miles. Its very notchy going from 1st into 2nd and usually downshifting back into 2nd just feels like its taking way more pressure than it should be. I bled the clutch, which was 100% replaced less than 20k ago with a full kit including the hose. I did change the oil in the transmission about 400 miles ago with Mobile 1 T4 10w40 full synthetic motorcycle oil. I had some in the garage from my bike and figured that it’s the right viscosity and is made to lubricate my Triumphs transmission and engine. Any ideas?

I do find myself holding the car in 2nd and 3rd a lot longer than I ever would have when I was younger, this is the first time Ive driven an 8v in over 12 years. Its slow, I live on back roads and if I go from 2nd into third within 10 seconds I need to be back in 2nd and so on and so forth and thats with the AC off! I know the engine is bullet proof, as far as keeping them in the 3,000 RPM range for extended times, actually I think the 8v gets better gas mileage this way over constantly holding it to the floor waiting for it to move! Its good to know that once the gear is engaged that holding it in gear isnt damaging anything, not that Im autocrossing it but Im not used to going to slow, really this old 8v is abnormally under-powered from what I remember!!!
