Harold, If there is no "knocking" (or "popping" as vvack says) when you steer around a corner then you don't have a bad outer CV joint. Vibrations that occur at a specific speed are nearly always caused by an unbalanced wheel. Bad wheel bearings growl when they are loaded by turning in the direction the bad bearing is on (eg. a bad left wheel bearing growls when turning left). That growling is continuous while turning, not a knocking sound and will occur over a wide range of speed. A worn inner driver vibrates on acceleration at any speed while going straight. Try swapping your front wheels to the rear and see if that affects the vibration. If the suspect tire is more than 1/2 worn down you probably won't be able to balance it well enough to eliminate all vibrations. Nothing I've seen comes close to the quality of Saab OEM axle components and my approach is to clean and re-grease good used OEM ones and stay clear of the aftermarket stuff. Many times I've stopped an outer CV from knocking by just cleaning and re-greasing it.
