"Everyone" on whatever Facebook C900 group you hopped up on may have said your problem was your clutch slave cylinder, but from what you have told us, it sounds to me, as to RS and others I'm sure on here, as if your problem is the clutch MASTER cylinder. That's easier to replace or even to rebuild, and also cheaper and less involved.
If your clutch began misbehaving some time before it finally quit, that's typical of the master cylinder failing. If it were the slave, failing means leaking, and any leaking there doesn't fix itself or let you keep using the clutch for long, failed means failed, with also loss of quite a bit of fluid from the brake fluid reservoir. It would drip out the bottom of the bell housing up at the forward part of the car.
A master cylinder (and only a master cylinder) can fail with no loss of fluid.
