Landjet is dead on - block the feed. Ran into the same situation 10+ years ago in my '86 (oil fed turbo) driving back from Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix to Akron.
Turbo started giving up the ghost on the drive out and one wiser than I said, "Block the inlet if the whole thing lets loose - turbo is shot anyway." Sure enough it let loose on the way back just west of Youngstown and I was rapidly burning through my reserve oil quarts. Trail of smoke reminiscent of 007 but dangerous for those behind me.
Stopped and wrapped the inlet gasket with electrical tape (!) drew it up tight and the soft tape sealed it all off nicely. 1-hr drive home, used no more oil and had a nicely cooked-solid oil feed line plug that came off cleanly. Kept it as a memento.
Appreciate George's tip to this very day!
