Plugs are somewhat like an oil preference, but the standard plugs are the way to go. You have a 6 heat range which is a hotter plug than a 7, and it's a turbo car, so I'd put in the 7ES plug, gap them perfectly, and make sure all the other ignition parts are good to go.
What has been described to me by Dean ( who takes it to the molecular level ) is basically, the higher boosted conditions blow out the spark essentially. Those tiny weeny itsy bitsy contact electrodes EIX might be good for the individually coiled ignition setup, but we never had any luck with them in C900 boosted engines with stock ignition systems. The T5.5 conversion guys might need to use the EIX versions for that specific setup, but this didn't sound like you have anything but stock.
Use the 7ES plugs, Bougs, Bosch cap / rotor, good fuel, and firewall the throttle when you don't care about the fuel mileage.
