Just signing in when Ziggy stole my shot. Just did both hinges 2 days ago. Was glad I had a big friend to help with door. I attached the hinges to the body first then had help sliding the door onto the hinges.
The door had been off a year, but I guess I took the 3 bolts out from the door first which required the removal of the door panel and a strong 10 mm socket short extension and a good breaker bar and rachet. I'd take the bottom ones out first support the door with a friend or block and then 2 X 4's. taking door off is ok to do w/o help. Getting it reattached best to have help. The hinge to body bolts were 13 mm on my Saab,. If you take the door too far from the hinge point you will have wiring issues., so again help is best for remove and install. Perhaps if you only loosen the lower hinge bolts where it attached to the door, you may be able to slide the upper hinge into the door then attach the hinge to the body. Never had the opportunity to try as I replaced both bent hinges. BTW my sedan for sale on TSN has 4 doors now and price will be adjusted as soon as I see how much more work I am going to do to front quarter panel
