I didn't find anything in a quick search about this, so I thought I'd share. Broken mounts seem pretty common on C900s and 9000s, so maybe this will help someone.
My project came with 5 of the 6 headlight mounts broken. They were easy enough to find at eEuroparts, so I got a set of 6, plus 6 of the white inner mount pieces.
Putting them into the first light, I promptly broke all of them! I took it all apart and looked a bit closer. The new ones are a slightly different profile inside than the OEM ones, so the mount doesn't quite fit squarely on the face of the reflector. There are 3 radial ribs that come up from the reflector to where the mount screws on; the new mounts seem to rest on the ribs before the face, so when you screw the mount down, the back of the mount breaks off.
Blah blah blah...My simple solution: file off some of the ribs until the mount makes good contact in the middle where the screw hole is. THen put the white inner mounts onto the threaded adjuster rods before pushing them into the outer mounts.
Since a picture is worth the thousand words I just typed, here you go: Upper mount on the left has been filed down already.
