There are two basic ways to hardwire a fan - jump the radiator's temp switch terminals together or jump the relay in the fusebox. Either of those will do the trick easily. I imagine one could also mess with the AC switch in the dashboard or run the fans directly to the battery, but that seems like a lot more work than just a 2" section of wire with a quick disconnect at either end. OTOH, someone weird enough to hardwire fans on might not take the easiest path to do it....
