Oh man! I'm trying to do the same thing, but I'm not attacking the dash yet. When I do I don't want a "stick-on" like I had in my last vert, but to replace the entire panel with a wooden one (possibly wood veneer on aluminum like I've seen with some BMW console pieces).
First, though, I'm going to replace all the velour inserts (speaker surrounds in the rear, around the door handles).
You wouldn't believe how rare and expensive actual burled walnut is - like $250 for a little veneer! Sheesh! Haven't even found a place in town that might have some.
