One of the things I found when I pulled one from a 9000 (this was about 15 years ago) and put it in my '89 SPG is that I had to trim the plastic piece where the connector goes - it was configured purposely so it couldn't be installed into a 900.
The car performed better, not that wasn't expected because the SPG APC box in mine had a few cold solder joints and, more often than not, didn't work.
IIRC, the 9000 APC box started to give significant boost a little lower than the 900 box (as limited by the physics of the system, of course.)
Oh, I miss the days when there were always a few 900s and 9Ks in the pick-n-pulls.
