Installing a rebuilt 5 speed in my 90T hatch. I noticed flaking black rubber covering on my driver's side ABS seƱor wiring. It's in the wheel well area and exposing the the white inner wire covering. The car has been sitting outside in the California heat most of the last 15 years. Other than that the car is very clean. The only inspections here are engine emissions. I'd like to road trip the car to the Northeast this summer and leave it there. I don't have experience with those east coast safety inspections but I've heard about them. Does this sound like a cause to fail the inspection? Would hand coating the the wire with black silicone sound like an acceptable solution?
