Clutch line fix Posted by K-Saab [Email] (#1142) [Profile/Gallery] (more from K-Saab) on Sun, 24 Jul 2016 06:54:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In January of this year my clutch failed. I had the car towed home and stored in the garage for bad behavior. The clutch slave was the likely culprit. After disassembling all of the "stuff" last week, I found the slave to be free of any hydraulic fluid. The flexible hose on the clutch line had sprung a pin hole leak at the sharp bend. There was a film of brake fluid on the cooling fan. Instead of buying an aftermarket hydraulic line manufactured in Turkey, I elected to have a local hydraulic shop replace the flexible hose for $41.
What a pain in the backside to get the line attached to the clutch slave with the master cylinder in place. I cut the chase and unbolted the brake master cylinder and laid it aside. Thankfully, I did not have to bleed the brakes.
The girl is back on the road. Now to get it inspected and registered again.
