I agree with the iggy module cool down test. I smell a loose hall sensor connector as well, or a hall sensor wiring issue.
Another then comes to mind is the warm up regulator on the fuel system. That could be inop if the car sat for a long period and the fuel made a messy situation inside it.
There is a also a fuel line accumulator in the back of the car by the tank. It looks kind of like a fuel filter, but it has a rubber diaphram in it that keeps pressure in the rail. I doubt if that is the problem -- if you find it is leaking and it is the ruptured diaphram, take it off, and see if the Volvo dealer can match it up. You'll probably have to make a different end on the lineset to connect to the fuel pump or forward -- the Volvo has different connections -- you will never find a Saab replacement. Ask me how I know.
Please confirm back that it's a CIS system or carbs. My guess is CIS -- should be easy to tell if you are looking at it.
