use them to guide the head back on: Cut the head off two of them and notch them with a hacksaw (so that you can screw in or unscrew them with a larger regular screwdriver).
Screw them in about a quarter inch (just enough so that they are sturdy. There's actually a Saab tool for this purpose that these are a good substitute for. Once the head is in position and you've started a couple of the new bolts (not torqued!!, use the screwdriver to loosen them and remove them (a magnetic pickup is handy here too).
Makes it very easy to put the head on and lined up by yourself without damaging the new gasket.
