To add to what Landjet said as a *temporary* fix on my return line to the pump I did use a short bit of rubber/woven fuel line with the nylon/ABS slid inside with a hose clamp to extend it to the fuel pump connector. It seemed very secure.
This was really only to get it through smog so I could register it and was outside the cabin.
I would be super cautious about doing anything like this inside the cabin or at all for any length of time. As it is the return it will continue to spray gas if it breaks until something really bad happens!
